Three Months Old!

So...it has been WAY too long since my last post! I kept meaning to post, but I kept "forgetting"...and the longer I "forgot" for the less I've wanted to do it. Melissa just got mad at me today so here we go...

Matthew and Kayla are now three months old. Time sure flies! I can't believe I'm already a quarter way through my maternity/parental leave. Speaking of which, I finally contacted Service Canada as to why I hadn't received any payments yet and it turns out that they entered my application in wrong. Everything has been corrected and I received my first payments last week. Yay!

Matthew and Kayla continue to sleep through the night. They usually go to bed between 9:00pm and 9:30pm, and then they wake up around 6:30am for a feeding. Some mornings I can just put them back in their crib to sleep again, but most mornings I have to stay up. If only one wants to get up then I take that one back to bed with me.

Matthew is a TALKER. He talks and talks and talks. We think he likes the sound of his voice. :)

Matthew is also a Mommy's boy. He definitely has me wrapped around his finger too. All he has to do is give a little whine and he knows that I'll come grab him. I'm trying to treat Matthew and Kayla like they are our first and last children, so I'm trying to completely enjoy every moment.

Kayla is a MOVER. She moves and moves and moves. There is not one moment where she is laying still. Kayla has definitely surpassed Matthew in physical abilities. She has amazing strength and control of her body. She started in the exersaucer a couple weeks ago and it's neat watching her move her hands to touch the different toys. At this rate, she'll be sitting in time for our week-long holiday in Penticton in the middle of August. We're hoping to have the jolly jumper set up this week so that Kayla can get started using it.

Height/Weight Update:
Matthew is 24" tall and weighs 12 lb 14 oz.
Kayla is 24 3/8" tall and weighs 12 lb 8 oz.

Random pictures from the past month:

Spending time with Grandpa...

...and spending time with Daddy!

On the Monday of the May long weekend my family went to Buntzen Lake. Kayla is quite the outdoors girl...anytime we're outside she is wide-eyed looking around.

The smiles from Matthew are never-ending.

We spent quite a few nights in May sitting around a backyard fire at night. I bundled Matthew and Kayla up, each wearing two sleepers.

Getting ready for a walk to the mailbox. I usually take turns with who gets to come with me.

Cuddle time. I will drop whatever I'm doing just for a chance to cuddle!

Matthew and Kayla both love sucking their hands. They haven't quite figured out how to only put in a select few fingers...it's always their whole fist.

Some 2.5 month pictures. It's so hard to get them both smiling at the same time!

Kayla usually gets really angry when she's tired and wants to sleep...here I am trying to soothe her...

On their 3-month birthday I let both Matthew and Kayla try the exersaucer for the first time. Kayla did great! She has really started to grab at the toys. Matthew isn't quite strong/sturdy enough for it yet.
Letting Matthew get in on the fun!

I've also started sitting Matthew and Kayla on the couch, in between two sections.

Here's Kayla wearing the dress I wore on my 5-month pictures. She is definitely a Vander Ende!

Group shot of all of the Struik cousins. Yes, so far there have been 4 babies born since the fall!

Courtney (my brother Jason's girlfriend) and her mom came over two weeks ago and took a bunch of pictures of Matthew and Kayla. I haven't received them yet, but I hear they turned out great!

Jon and I had family pictures taken on Monday (it was a part of my baby shower gift from some of my siblings). I'm looking forward to it! I bought some frames from Costco so I should be able to have the pictures developed and on display pretty quick! They will be the first pictures that I've developed of Matthew and Kayla (other than their birth announcements). I'm bad, I know. I just haven't decided if I even want to develop pictures for an album. I'm thinking I might just have my blog made into a book each year.

My hair loss started last week...I swear I'm going to be bald! It seems that all I have to do is touch my hair and it comes out! Thank goodness our family pictures were on Monday and not in a few weeks.

We're camping at Cultus Lake right now. Pictures of our holiday will follow next week!
