Jon had last week off from school, so we went to Cultas Lake with my mom on Tuesday afternoon (July 26). Melissa joined us on Thursday afternoon, and Jason, Candice, Courtney, and Luke came up Thursday evening. We all went home on Sunday.
Our full intention was to sleep in our tent. Our first night there, Kayla screamed when we put her to bed. Nothing we could do would soothe her, so Jon finally got out of the tent with her and into my Mom's trailer. Five minutes later, she was calmed. He brought her back to the tent and everyone slept great.
The next day (Wednesday) was really cold. It rained all day! Jon suggested that we sleep in the trailer that night so that we wouldn't have to worry about Matthew and Kayla getting cold. Good thing we did, because Kayla cried screamed for an hour and a half before falling asleep.
We decided to spend the rest of nights in the trailer. We did manage to figure out the secret to calming Kayla: make sure she has her fuzzy blanket in her hand. Seriously, it works every time!
A few firsts during camping:
Thursday, June 30 - Matthew laughed!
Saturday, July 2 - Kayla rolled from back to front. She's done it every day since, so we know it's not a fluke!

We decorated their stroller at the kids' craft on July 1st! We had forgotten about the craft, so we only had 7 minutes to bathe and change both of them.
Jon enjoyed quite a few rounds of golf. Matthew, Kayla, and I walked with him for 9 holes. Everyone was asking Jon if he was starting his kids young. I think he was quite proud :)

Swimming for the first time! Not a single tear was shed...they quite enjoyed it! And no, we didn't plan for our bathing suits to match, it just worked out that way.

Laura and Jon, The kids are super cute! I can tell by your pictures that you are enjoying them so much. What a blessing! Anytime you need to get out for some couple time and the neighbours aren't available, great auntie Freda would be more than happy to come over and look after the darlings..Hope to see you all soon!
